3. Products and Services

MedAlert offers products and services which may include:

  • MedAlert emergency cards;
  • MedAlert wristbands;
  • related NFC-enabled products;
  • digital profile setup and hosting;
  • optional activation, encoding, or linking services; and
  • related accessories or services offered from time to time.

All products and services are subject to availability. We may update, improve, discontinue, or change products, specifications, pricing, packaging, or service features at any time without prior notice.

4. Orders

When you place an order, you confirm that:

  • the information you provide is accurate and complete;
  • you are authorised to use the selected payment method; and
  • you understand the product or service you are purchasing.

An order is not accepted until payment has been received and we have confirmed or started processing the order.

We reserve the right to decline, cancel, or limit any order where necessary, including in cases of suspected fraud, pricing error, stock unavailability, incorrect information, abuse of the website, or any other lawful reason.

5. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable, unless otherwise stated.

Payment must be made in full before dispatch, activation, setup, or release of the product or service, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

We may use third-party payment providers. By making payment, you may also be subject to the terms of the relevant payment provider.

If a pricing error occurs, we reserve the right to cancel the affected order and refund any amount paid.

6. Personalised, Encoded, and Activated Products

Some MedAlert products may be personalised, encoded, linked to a profile, activated, or otherwise prepared for a specific user.

You are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted for customisation, activation, or profile setup is correct and complete.

Once personalised, encoded, activated, or custom-processed, certain products may no longer be eligible for cancellation, return, exchange, or refund except where required by law or where the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect on delivery. South African online transactions can carry statutory cooling-off rights in some cases, but there are also exceptions, including for personalised goods.

7. Shipping and Delivery

Delivery is available within South Africa, subject to courier coverage and our Shipping Policy.

Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to courier issues, public holidays, remote-area delivery constraints, incorrect address details, or circumstances beyond our control.

Risk in the goods passes to the customer on delivery to the address provided in the order.

Please refer to our Shipping Policy for full details on delivery zones, shipping charges, processing time, and estimated delivery time.

8. Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations

Returns, refunds, and order cancellations are governed by our separate policy pages.

Please refer to our:

These policies form part of these Terms and Conditions.

South African consumer law gives consumers certain rights, including cooling-off rights in specific cases and protections relating to defective goods, and your policy wording should not try to contract out of those rights.

9. Customer Responsibilities

You agree that you will:

  • provide accurate and complete information;
  • keep your profile and emergency information updated where applicable;
  • use MedAlert products lawfully and for their intended purpose;
  • not misuse, copy, interfere with, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our website, systems, or services; and
  • not use our website in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality or security.

10. Emergency Profile and Medical Use Disclaimer

MedAlert products are intended to assist with the sharing of emergency information and identification details. They are designed to support access to emergency profile information where available, but they do not guarantee any particular medical outcome, emergency response, diagnosis, treatment decision, or rescue result.

We are not responsible for the separate terms, privacy practices, outages, or acts or omissions of third-party providers, except where liability arises under applicable law.

17. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint, please contact us first using the details below so that we can try to resolve the matter directly and in good faith.

South Africa’s consumer law framework aims to provide accessible redress for consumers, and the Consumer Goods and Services Industry Code exists to support dispute resolution standards in the sector.
